2019 Gala Ball

A successful Gala Ball

We returned to the Belfry for our 2019 Gala Ball, on Friday 17 May.

We are grateful to our very own Jeff Bell, who did a wonderful job as out MC.

Award winning Rod Woodward, described by Peter Kay as a young Dave Allen, kept us laughing after a delicious dinner and there was dancing until the early hours to the band The Choice. Click here to find out more about them.

Email Linda Belcher [secretary@chsa.co.uk] to book your table for 2020 now!

A huge thank you to the generosity of our members and their guests for helping us to raise over £8,000 for the Chairman’s Charity, Grief Encounter.

Grief Encounter supports bereaved children and their families to help alleviate the pain caused by the death of someone close.  1 in 29 children in the UK under the age of 16 will suffer the death of a parent.  Rebuilding a new life after the death of a loved one is hard for everyone, but especially for children and young people. Once the shock and trauma of a life changing event such as bereavement has been managed, finding a way to move forward must begin.  Children have an overwhelming sense of confusion, fear and anxiety, alongside their grief, which must be cared for in order for them to continue into adulthood with a sense of confidence and long lasting happiness.
