Accreditation Schemes

HomeAccreditation Schemes

Our Accreditation Schemes for Distributors, and Soft Tissue products, Plastic Refuse Sacks and Industrial Cotton Mops guarantee ‘what’s on the box is what’s in the box’.

Members of the Accreditation Scheme for Distributors offer for sale, in the relevant product areas, only those products accredited within our Schemes for Soft Tissue, Refuse Sacks and Cotton Mops or those that conform to the relevant standard.

Buying from an Accredited member of the Soft Tissue Scheme is the only way to be certain the dimensions and count of every product within the scheme are as indicated on the label.

The Accreditation Scheme for Plastic Refuse Sacks defined commonly used terms, which means buyers can be certain plastic sacks stamped with the Accreditation Scheme mark are fit for purpose and the dimensions and count are as indicated on the label.

Members of our Accreditation Scheme for Cotton Mops guarantee the weight, absorbency and cotton content of their cotton mops.

The Accreditation Schemes for Distributors, Soft Tissue, Plastic Refuse Sacks and Industrial Cotton Mops report to the Association’s Council

Our Standards, Your Guarantee

Auditing Process

Applicants are only admitted to the relevant Scheme if they pass the initial audit, during which the inspector ensures  labels are accurate and conform to the relevant Standard. The inspector then carries out an audit of the applicant’s products. In the Soft Tissue Scheme he will measure the length and width; in the Plastic Sack Scheme he will conduct a drop test to establish if the product is fit for purpose; and in the Mop Scheme he tests for the weight of the yarn and absorbency.  In the Distributor Scheme, the auditor checks these and other products in the warehouse.  The auditor also review member’s quality assurance procedures.

Once they have successfully passed the initial audit, members are monitored periodically with a minimum of two audits each year, giving buyers the confidence standards are maintained.  Should any member fail to meet the relevant Standard they would ultimately loose their Accreditation status.
