£1,500 raised for RNIB at CHSA’s Pro-Am Golf Tournament

Members of the cleaning industry have raised over £1,500 at the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association’s (CHSA) annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

Combining this with the money already raised at the Gala Ball, the CHSA has now generated an impressive approximate £10,000 for the RNIB this year.

Generating funds for charity is an important part of our ethos,” explained Stephen Harrison, chair of the CHSA.  “Always popular, our Pro-Am Golf tournament and annual Gala ball are the foundation for our fundraising; between them we raise tens of thousands of pounds every year.  We’re delighted this year is no different.”

The Golf Tournament, which is a perfect opportunity for networking with colleagues, took place at the stunning Rockliffe Hall near Darlington, with outstanding support from the staff.  The successful partnership with the Yorkshire Professional Golf Association continued, John Wells and Aran Wainright making sure a professional played with every team and so was on hand to provide expertise and advice throughout the course.

“It was a superb day,” said Richard Dyson of Greyland.  “Great location, lovely hotel and a tough (but fair) golf course.  Special praise to all the staff at Rockcliffe Hall, each of whom was very polite and courteous.

The winning team came from Scott Janitorial and comprised Keith Airey, Scott Bullough and Ross Bullough, all supported the pro-player, Peter Robinson.  A team from Metsa came second and the RPC Bpi Recycled Plastics team came third.  Duncan Bullough, also from Scott Janitorial, won Best Amateur Player.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is the Chairman’s Charity for 2018.  The RNIB offers practical and emotional support to people who are losing their sight or are blind or partially sighted, helping them face the future with confidence.
