Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers Association
The CHSA represents more than 200 manufacturers and distributors, from global multinationals through national networks to privately owned independent businesses.
Representing these organisations, the CHSA gives them a powerful collective voice, advocating on their behalf.
Seminars and the newsletter keep them informed on key industry issues.
The CHSA has driven up standards, making it possible for buyers of cleaning products to beat the cheats. All members adhere to the code of practice and the Manufacturing Standards Accreditation Schemes for Soft Tissue products, Plastic Refuse Sacks and Industrial Cotton Mops make sure customers get what they pay for.
Buyers are increasingly specifying membership of the Schemes in tenders and as a result applications are soaring; for example during the first half of 2015 there were five applicants to the plastic refuse sack Scheme, representing a 40% increase in the number of members.
Application does not guarantee membership. Applicants are only admitted if they pass the challenging audit conducted by the Scheme’s independent auditor. Each new member is then audited four times in the first year of membership and twice a year thereafter. Failure to meet the standard ultimately results in being removed from the Scheme.
The Manufacturing Standards Accreditation Schemes for Soft Tissue, Plastic Refuse Sacks and Industrial Cotton Mops guarantee:
- Consistency of supply: customers receive what they order
- Accurate labeling: customers know what is inside the packaging
- Fully audited manufacturers: customers get what they pay for
